We arrived at Marriott Napa Valley Resort & Spa--rates confirmed were changed without notification or authorization (blame on customer, no responsibility from front desk) no bellman, no maid, no gym open, no coffee in room, limited pool use on weekends, no communication on anything, power out--no checking in on us). Blaming COVID is no excuse for zero service. I understand perfectly about being safe and have no problem following limited service, but no service and charging a resort fee for no service is unacceptable. Then when complaining about it and being threatened is unprofessional. Do not recommend!
I went to ATL for the weekend, was trying to figure out how to get into my hotel, residence inn ATL Peachtree and 17th and was physically assualted by a random and crazed woman on the property. After spending an entire weekend there because I paid for my room upfront and didn't want to spend another few hundred dollars somewhere else I had not received any communication from upper management for 3 days. When I did I was offered $100 gift card for my troubles. Not even to refund my room, cover medical bills sustained from the assault but a $100 gift card and never to be heard from again. This incident happened August 14 and I haven't heard anything from anyone since August 17, 2020. I am disgusted and will never stay at a Marriott or any of it's brand again. The lack of empathy and compassion for guests is insurmountable and disgusting.

In August of 2016, my husband and I were offered a free three-night stay at the Newport Coast Villas which included the stay to be in a two-bedroom suite! Of course we took this offer just like anyone else would but it came with a price. We had to attend a sales meeting on the 2nd day of our stay. In this sales meeting, we had FOUR different representatives applying heavy pressure on us and demonstrating the value of how the club points work. They convinced us to believe that the points were easy to use, clubs were private, and the ownership was some exclusive membership. This was not true at all and we had trouble using the points that we have accumulated over time. We tried multiple times to book a stay even when it was months in advanced! In fact, the same resorts that we were unable to book with our points, many common hotel booking sites showed room availability! Needless to say, we were frustrated that our “purchased” points weren’t considered the same or given the same booking priority as US currency. In addition, Marriott told us that they can buy our points back if we were ever unsatisfied in anyway, but we would first have to pay off the timeshare to be able to do so. Overall, Marriott fed us lies left and right and misled us to believe that what we were purchasing was something of value which was not the case.
Never get call back resolving a mistake THEY made! But that blocks me out of my account... reported the mistake they made on April 27, it's now June 4.
I have stayed with Marriott in the past, so I guess that is how I ended up on this list that has led to call frequency bordering on harassment. I will never stay with Marriott again, solely for this reason. I have been getting calls at a minimum of once a week for MONTHS saying that I have been selected, through Marriott's Friends and Family Program for a complimentary stay. I know this a marketing company fishing for suckers to buy one of Marriott's Timeshares. The call always gives me the choice to "add my number to the do not call list" and I ALWAYS choose that option but still get phone calls every week for MONTHS now. I sincerely hope someone at Marriott sees this. I will NEVER stay at a Marriott or Marriott affiliate ever again, just for this constant annoyance. Just so everyone knows their affiliates include: Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, Luxury, W Hotels, Edition, Sheraton, Delta, Renaissance, Gaylord, Courtyard, Four Points, Westin (a real shame because I have always enjoyed Westin), Springhill Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Aloft, AC Hotels, Moxy, Residence Inn and Townplace Suites. There are a few other obscure International locations but my point is made. Before booking anything I will ensure they are not affiliated with Marriott. Let all who stay at a Marriott facility be warned, you will be harrassed by their marketers.
I am a platinum rewards member with Marriott and have stayed at many of their properties. My wife and I were visiting one of their Las Vegas locations in 2018 when we were approached by a salesperson and invited to an hour-long presentation where we would be provided with different discounts and upgrades in exchange for our time. We walked into this meeting with no intention of making a purchase of any kind, but their sales team kept making the deal sweeter until we succumbed to the pressure. Since we were told that this was an investment, and if and when we choose to sell it Marriott would reserve the right to buy back, and that we could rent out our unit if we were unable to use it at a given time. We were not told that this would cost us over $75,000 over the duration of the loan or that the maintenance fees would increase over 25% in just 2 years! We trusted that we were being told the truth because we believed that Marriott was a reputable company and cannot believe that this is how they treat their customers!
When we were planning a vacation in 2019, we were contacted by Marriott and offered a discounted stay in Arizona if we were to attend a brief presentation while at the resort. When we arrived at the presentation, we were assured that becoming members with Marriott would allow us to vacation as we wished with no limitations or restrictions on reservations. This was repeated to us repeatedly over the entire time we were there. Yet, somehow, the neglected to tell is about how much this purchase would cost us, choosing instead to focus just on the monthly payment amount. When we returned home, we started reading over all the paperwork that we were given. That’s when we started to learn about all the half-truths and false information that we were told. We began to contact the sales staff, but they would not return our calls. We tried calling the other phone numbers that they gave us, but this number also went unanswered. These points are unusable and now we are stuck paying for something that we cannot use, the fees continue to increase, and we feel that there is no end in sight. Why would Marriott treat people this way?
Great place to stay. Not too expensive. Clean excellent staff, especially Danny. Went above and beyond to help us when our car broke down on road trip. Restaurants around and great over experience
They gave me a bad experience and now again they are bothering nasty harassing phone calls.
Awful. Over priced. Refused to provide receipt at check out. Printers are broken. I said. Motel 6 is better service. Veronica. Says then go there.
Left Hotel in Mobile. Alabama. Could and would not give receiot. To me at check out. When I said this is motel 6. Service. Veronica says. Than u should stay there. Rotten service. Dr Bruce.
Really like the Bonvoy scheme... just wish it included breakfast when booking with points.....
The arguing, one-sided, threatening words from CNN and MSNBC morning news is very disturbing when I go to get my coffee in the lobby. Hotels should be peaceful and welcoming to all not a place for division and anxiety. Make a policy to have non partisan channels blaring. Try something like explorations, building, animals, food. Channels that inspire and build compassion.
High quality service at a reasonable price has always been offered by Marriott. At the many Marriott Hotels that I have had the pleasure of staying in, comfort along with warm, personal service is always to be expected.

When it comes to bed bugs, Marriott handles things in a scam, not legitimate way. If you are going to stay in a Marriott hotel, make sure you know how to check for bed bugs before you travel, because the chances are much higher that you'll have bed bugs in a Marriott hotel room than at other hotel chains
